Meransen is a hiker’s paradise with great panorama views and a diverse scenery. On tour there, you will spot many picturesque farms and clear mountain creeks. In spring, meadows spread their juicy green at the feet of hikers, the scent of hay fills the air during summer months and in the autumn the golden-yellow larch forests fascinate visitors. Not only in summer, Meransen and the hospitality of its inhabitants fascinate guests in winter as well. The eight-seat cable car directly takes you from the village up to an altitude of 2,107 metres, to the heart of the Gitschberg Jochtal skiing resort. The viewing platform at the Gitschberg summit with views of over 500 mountain summits is particularly breath-taking. The overwhelming panorama of the Dolomites, Zillertaler, Stubaier and the Ötztaler Alps alone is worth a trip to Meransen.

Both in summer, as well as in winter it is worth your while to explore the Altfasstal on its various hiking trails. Untouched nature hiking trails and the Alm Kneipp trail take you through the picturesque valley. Traditional huts invite to make a rest stop and enjoy best South Tyrolean delicacies.
