Vals and the Vallertal in the Gitschberg Jochtal Ski & Almen region
An original Almen village
Situated amidst the Vallertal’s fertile valley floor and protected by the high Pfunderer Mountains in the north, Vals is a highly popular resort, both in summer and winter. Vals is starting point of numerous hiking tours with many destinations worth seeing, like Fane Alm, the Brixner Hütte, the Pfunderer Höhenweg alpine trail, Lake Wilder See or the Wilde Kreuzspitze summit (3,132 m). During winter months, Vals provides a diversified offer to winter sports enthusiasts. Well-groomed pistes, cross-country and hiking trails in Vals and throughout the Gitschberg Jochtal skiing resort invite guests to have fun on alpine or cross-country skiing trails, tobogganing or on romantic walks. Families in particular will feel at home here, as a great number of beginner’s and easy pistes offer best conditions for the first skiing attempts.
The children’s parks in the Gitschberg Jochtal skiing area will let the hearts of little skiing fans beat faster. The Bambino club near the Schillingbahn, the Zwergele winter world at the Pobist lift and the children’s world next to the Nesselbahn do not leave anything to be desired.
Via the Milchsteig – past many stations on the topic of milk and milk products – you reach the unique alpine village of the FANE ALM. A small chapel, three catered huts and several private lodges form one the most original and well-known alpine villages: Our FANE ALM which is also eponym of our Almenregion.
