Public transport in South Tyrol

Almencard and Mobilcard

With the Almencard and the Mobilcard you can use all public transport in South Tyrol without limits for the entire duration of your holiday.

The following services are included:

  • All regional trains in South Tyrol (from Brennero to Trento, from Malles to Versciaco)
    Attention: partial route closures. More information here.
  • All local buses – including ski buses in winter
  • Cable cars Bolzano–Renon, Bolzano–Colle, Vilpiano–Meltina, Postal–Verano
  • Renon tram and Mendola funicular railway
  • Alpine bus no. 415 to the Rodengo–Luson alpine pasture

Validation before travel
The QR code of your Guest Pass must be scanned at the designated validator at the start of each journey.

Good to know:

  • The South Tyrol Guest Pass Almencard/Mobilcard is a personal ticket and therefore not transferable.
  • All guests from the age of 6 receive the Guest Pass. Children under six years travel free of charge.
  • Transport of wheelchair users and infants in strollers is permitted on public transport with appropriate signage.
  • Bicycles can be transported on regional trains and bus lines equipped with bike racks, subject to available space. For bicycle transport you need to purchase a daily bike ticket (separate tariffs apply on cable cars and mountain lifts).
  • Guide dogs for the blind and small animals carried in your arms or in a container with maximum dimensions of 70 × 30 × 50 cm travel free of charge on public transport (separate tariffs apply on cable cars and mountain lifts).
  • For all other animals, a single ticket must be purchased. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be kept on a leash.

Free cable car rides

Almencard

With the Gitschberg Jochtal Almencard you can enjoy one free round trip per day with the Gitschberg and Jochtal cable cars from 29.05.2025 to 11.07.2025 and from 15.09.2025 to 07.11.2025.

For dogs travelling on the Gitschberg and Jochtal cable cars, a separate ticket must be purchased. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be kept on a leash. Guide dogs travel free of charge.
