Public transport in South Tyrol

Almencard and Mobilcard

Use your Almencard or Mobilcard to enjoy unlimited use of public transport across South Tyrol, for the duration of your stay.

Your card is valid for:

  • All regional trains across South Tyrol (Brenner-Trento and Mals-Vierschach lines) 
    Please note: some sections may be closed. Click here for more information.
  • All public buses – including ski buses in the winter season
  • The Bozen–Ritten, Bozen–Kohlern, Vilpian–Mölten, and Burgstall-Vöran gondolas
  • The Ritten narrow-gauge railway and the Mendel Pass funicular
  • The Almbus No. 415 bus connection to the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp

Validating your card
You need to validate your card before each journey by scanning the QR code on your pass at the designated machines.

Useful info:

  • The Südtirol Guest Pass Almencard/Mobilcard is a personal, non-transferable pass.
  • The pass is provided to all guests from the age of 6 years. Children under 6 travel for free.
  • Buses equipped for wheelchairs and pushchairs display specific identifying signage.
  • Some regional trains and buses are equipped for bicycle transport (space availability is limited), which requires a separate day ticket (different fares apply on cable cars and mountain railways).
  • Public transport is free for guide dogs and small pets that can be held or transported in a cage or container not exceeding 70 x 30 x 50 cm in size (fares apply on cable cars and mountain railways).
  • A single ticket is required for all other animals. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be kept on a lead.

Free lift facilities

Almencard

Gitschberg Jochtal Almencard holders are granted one free ascent and descent per day on the Gitschberg and Jochtal lifts in the periods from 29 May 2025 to 11 July 2025 and from 15 September 2025 to 7 November 2025.

Please be aware that a separate ticket is required for dog transport on both the Gitschberg and Jochtal lift facilities. Guide dogs travel free of charge. Dogs must wear a muzzle and be kept on a lead.
