Up in comfort
Hiking and exploring with the whole family
Autumn in the Gitschberg Jochtal alpine region is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors together. Family-friendly hiking trails, scenic tours and cosy places to stop for refreshments can be wonderfully combined.
The cable cars and lifts are in operation up to and including 7 November 2026, taking you comfortably to many starting points on Gitschberg and in Jochtal. Children can also look forward to two special mountain adventure worlds that combine movement, play and nature experiences.
Sun Park Gitschberg
Right at the top station of the Nesselbahn lift on Gitschberg, the Sun Park offers fun and adventure for all ages. A sun bridge, giant slide, climbing igloo, sun throne, zip line and human sundial provide plenty of variety, while binoculars and the sun telephone invite visitors to explore and discover.
The Sun Park is also easily accessible with a pushchair. The Nesselhütte mountain hut is located right next to the park, while the Gitschhütte can be reached with a short walk.
Jochtal Adventure Park
The Jochtal Adventure Park starts at the mountain station of the Jochtal cable car and follows a pushchair-friendly adventure trail to the Steinermandl panoramic platform. Along the way, marble runs, a water park, a climbing deer, a balance course, a glockenspiel, a wooden tractor and a climbing bear await young adventurers.
Those in need of a break can relax in hammocks or stop for refreshments at several places along and near the route. At the end of the trail, the Steinermandl panoramic platform rewards visitors with sweeping 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains.
