Circular cross-country skiing slope in Vals at the station in the valley of the railway cable car Vals/Valles
This 15 km easy to moderate cross-country skiing trail begins just past the Zumis car park and takes you across the high plateau of the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm Alpine pastures with views of the Zillertal and Ötztal Alps and the Dolomites. This mountain huts offering refreshments are open in winter: Oberhauserhütte, Ronerhütte, Kreuzwiesenalm, Rastnerhütte.
From Meransen, the cable car takes you over the forest edge directly into the Gitschberg Jochtal ski area.
The chairlift whisks you uphill, where a panoramic platform awaits you with a breathtaking view of the Pustertal valley, the Eisacktal valley and the Dolomites.
The 1.7-km-long blue ski slope that stretches under the Schilling cable car is perfect for beginners and children.
The Gaisjoch cable car comfortably connects Mt. Gitschberg to Mt. Jochtal, offering a breathtaking view of the Altfasstal Valley. With a ground clearance of 93 metres at its highest point and a maximum span between two pillars of 538 metres, it holds the Italian record for monocable ropeways!

Fun is guaranteed on the Gitschberg toboggan run, one of the longest runs in South Tyrol leading from the Gitschhütte hut to the village of Maranza/Meransen on a 6.75 km-long descent divided into 2 sections:
Toboggan rental is available at the Nesselbahn valley station as well as at the Bergbahn valley station in Maranza/Meransen.
Section 1 is open, Section 2 is closed.
